HL Deb 20 March 1928 vol 70 c530

The Gentleman Usher of the Black Rod invited the attention of the Committee to a petition from one of the Doorkeepers, Captain E. Clague, for an extension of service from the 17th of June next, when he is due to retire, to the 31st March, 1929, in order to enable him to complete the length of service necessary to qualify him for the maximum pension on retirement.

The Committee decided, in accordance with their recommendation of the 9th of July, 1925, Captain Clague should retire on the normal date, but on retirement should be granted a pension at the rate to which he would have been entitled if he had served the full three years at the higher rate of pay.
