HL Deb 31 July 1928 vol 71 c1535

The Gentleman Usher of the Black Rod informed the Committee that Captain E. Clague retired as from the 17th June last. The Committee in their first Report of this year recommended that Captain Clague should have a pension granted at the rate to which he would have been entitled if he had served the full three years as second principal Doorkeeper.

His pension, therefore, under the Superannuation Act, 1909, was to be calculated on twenty-one years' service at his salary of £200 per annum, amounting to £52 10s. per annum. There was also a supplement amounting to £26 per annum, subject to quarterly revision, and an additional allowance of £192 19s. 2d. calculated on his salary together with 75 per cent. of the current bonus.

The Committee authorised the payment of these amounts as from the 17th June last.
