HL Deb 22 June 1926 vol 64 cc529-30

Order of the Day for the Third Reading read.

THE SECRETARY OF STATE FOR INDIA (THE EARL OF BIKKENHEAD)

My Lords, on behalf of ray noble and learned friend the Lord Chancellor I beg to move that this Bill be read a third time.

Moved, That the Bill be now read 3a.—(The Earl of Birkenhead.)

LORD PHILLIMORE

My Lords, I want to say just one word that I was precluded from saying by absence from the Second Reading debate, and that is how very much, from an experience of nine years working in the Judicial Committee, I feel the necessity for this Bill and the great advantage it will be if it is passed.

On Question, Bill read 3a.

Privilege Amendments made.

Bill passed, and sent to the Commons.
