HL Deb 26 November 1925 vol 62 c935

Order of the Day for the Second Reading read.

THE LORD CHANCELLOR (VISCOUNT CAVE)

My Lords, this is a Bill for consolidating the six Acts relating to workmen's compensation. It is obviously desirable that this should be done, and, if your Lordships accept the Second Reading of the Bill, it is proposed to refer it at once to the Joint Committee on Consolidation Bills. There is, I understand, no objection in any part of the House to this course being adopted.

Moved, That the Bill be now read 2a.—(The Lord Chancellor.)

On Question, Bill read 2a.

Moved, That the Bill be referred to the Joint Committee on Consolidation Bills of the present Session.—(The Lord Chancellor.)

On Question, Motion agreed to.
