§ Debate resumed (according to Order) on the Amendment, moved yesterday by Lord Balfour of Burleigh, to leave out Paragraph 10 of the Schedule:—
§ Purchase of tramways by local authorities.
§ 16. The provisions of Section 43 of the Tramways Act, 1870, shall apply to the intended tramways. Provided that in the application of those. provisions the period of forty-two years shall be substituted for the period of twenty-one years therein mentioned.
§ THE EARL OF PLYMOUTHMy Lords, I understand that the Amendment moved yesterday has been circulated and that the noble Earl, Lord Beauchamp, is satisfied. In the absence of the noble Lord, Lord Balfour of Burleigh, I hope, therefore, that the matter will now go through.
