HL Deb 18 December 1924 vol 60 cc175-6
VISCOUNT PEEL

My Lords, I beg to make the Motion standing in my name with reference to the Newcastle-upon-Tyne and Gateshead Gas Company's Order. I postponed this Order at the request of the noble Lord, Lord Muir Mackenzie, from yesterday until to-day. I can tell him that I have looked into this matter carefully and I can assure him and your Lordships that this is an Order that ought to be approved, and that full notice has been given. I beg to move.

Moved, That the Draft Special Order proposed to be made by the Board of Trade under Section 10 of the Gas Regulation Act, 1920, on the application of the Newcastle-upon-Tyne and Gateshead Gas Company, which was presented on the ninth day of December, 1924, be approved.—(Viscount Peel.)

LORD MUIR MACKENZIE

My Lords, I am very much obliged to my noble friend for having acted as he has done. I do not propose to pursue my opposition, if it could be called an opposition, any further. I only wish to thank him for what he has done.

On Question, Motion agreed to.
