HL Deb 04 May 1921 vol 45 c150

Order of the Day for the Second Reading read.

THE PARLIAMENTARY SECRETARY OF THE MINISTRY OF HEALTH (THE EARL OF ONSLOW)

My Lords, this Bill is to confirm a Provisional Order of the Ministry of Health relating to Dover, known as the Ministry of Health Provisional Order (Dover Extension) Bill. It extends the borough boundary to take in the port and rural parish of River. That is done in order to complete the housing scheme of the town of Dover which extends into this parish. The extension also takes into the borough the piers which extend into the sea and, therefore, were not technically in the borough. The piers are the Admiralty pier, the Prince of Wales pier, and one or two smaller jetties. I do not think there has been any opposition to this Bill, and I beg to move that it be read a second time.

Moved, That the Bill be now read 2ª.—(The Earl of Onslow.)

On Question, Bill read 2ª.—
