My Lords, I have to announce to your Lordships that I have received the following Message from the President of the. Belgian Senate—

As interpreter of the sentiments of the members of the Belgian Senate, I beg you, on this auspicious and unforgettable occasion when Victory is celebrated, to accept the expression of our deepest and most grateful sympathy for the great and generous British people, and of our lively admiration of the glorious deeds of its mighty forces on land and on sea.

We express to you our most fervent wishes for the greatness and well-being of the British Empire. May the benefits of Peace, so heroically assured, draw still closer the bonds of friendship which unite our two countries.

I beg your Excellency to accept the expression of my high consideration.
