HL Deb 02 August 1918 vol 31 c461

Order of the Day for the Second Reading read.

THE LORD PRIVY SEAL (THE EARL OF CRAWFORD)

My Lords, this is a small and non-contentious Bill. It permits certain local authorities in Ireland to extend their powers of borrowing, and it is necessary, I am informed, that the powers should be conferred in order to ensure the provision of public services during the coming months. I beg to move.

Moved. That the Bill be now read 2a.—The (Earl of Crawford.)

On Question, Bill read 2a, and committed to a Committee of the Whole House.
