HL Deb 30 March 1916 vol 21 cc593-4
THE LORD CHANCELLOR (LORD BUCKMASTER)

My Lords, I beg to move the Motion that stands in my name. It will be within your Lordships' recollection that when you granted a Second Reading to a Bill to consolidate the law of larceny I pointed out that such a Committee as this would be necessary to deal with that amongst other Consolidation Bills.

Moved, That a Committee of Five Lords be appointed to join with a Committee of the House of Commons to consider all Consolidation Bills of the present Session—(The Lord Chancellor).

On Question, Motion agreed to.

The Lords following were named of the Committee:—

Ordered, That such Committee have power to agree with the Committee of the House of Commons in the appointment of a Chairman.

Then a Message was ordered to be sent to the House of Commons to acquaint them therewith and to request them to appoint five members of that House to join with the said Committee; and to inform them that the Larceny Bill [H.L.] has been referred to the said Committee.
