HL Deb 06 August 1914 vol 17 c429

Order of the Day for the Second Reading read.

LORD STRACHIE

My Lords, this Bill is exactly like the Expiring Laws Continuance Bills of previous years, with the exception that this year the Bill renews the Coal Mines (Minimum Wage) Act, 1912, which expires on March 31 next, and also certain sections of the Insurance Act, 1911, which expires on the same day. Those are the only alterations. The Bill is otherwise the hardy annual which comes before your Lordships' House every session. I beg to move.

Moved, That the Bill be now read 2ª.—(Lord Strachie.)

On Question, Bill read 2ª.

Committee negatived: Then (Standing Order No. XXXIX having been suspended) Bill read 3ª, and passed.
