HL Deb 16 September 1909 vol 2 cc1247-8
EARL CAWDOR

Before the House adjourns, may I ask the noble Earl if he can give your Lordships any information with respect to the probable course of business in the next two or three weeks.

THE EARL OF CREWE

My Lords, we propose to take the Committee on the Housing and Town Planning Bill on Tuesday, September 21. We may safely assume, I think, that this stage will take more than one day. Whether it will occupy the whole of the rest of the week we shall be better able to judge when we have started upon it. The Irish Land Bill will, I understand, be through in another place to-morrow. I understand, however, that it would not meet the convenience of noble Lords from Ireland to attempt to take the Second Reading next week, and we propose, therefore, to put the Second Reading down for Tuesday, September 28, which would enable two days to be given to that stage. The Committee stage of the House Letting and Rating (Scotland) Bill will be taken on Monday, September 27, and the Report of the Housing and Town Planning Bill on Thursday, September 30. We should proceed with the Irish Land Bill in Committee on Monday, October 4, and such following days as may be necessary.

House adjourned at ten minutes before Six o'clock, to Monday next, half-past Two o'clock.
