HL Deb 26 October 1909 vol 4 c417
THE EARL OF CROMER

My Lords, I wish to ask the noble Earl who represents the Home Office a Question of which I have given him private notice—namely, whether he can give the House any information as to when the Vivisection Committee are likely to send in their Report.

THE LORD STEWARD (EARL BEAUCHAMP)

I am afraid I am unable, in answer to the Question of the noble Earl, to fix any date. I understand that the draft of the Report is in an advanced stage of preparation, but the Chairman, Lord Selby, is unfortunately very unwell, and it is quite impossible to fix a definite date for the further proceedings of the Commission. I have no doubt, however, that the members of the Commission will take note of the Question of the noble Earl, and accept it as an indication on the part of the public of their wish for a speedy issue of the Report.
