§ VISCOUNT MIDLETONMy Lords, I rise to ask the noble Viscount the Secretary of State for India a Question of which I have given him private notice. I noticed a few days ago a statement, apparently on authority, that it was proposed to abolish the Military Supply Member of the Viceroy's Council and the Department over which he presides. I wish to ask the noble Viscount whether the statement is correct, and whether he will give your Lordships the advantage of seeing any Papers on the subject.
§ THE SECRETARY OF STATE FOR INDIA (VISCOUNT MORLEY OF BLACKBURN):The statement is perfectly correct, and I shall be very happy within a few days to lay Papers before Parliament.
