HL Deb 17 February 1909 vol 1 c37
VISCOUNT MIDLETON

My Lords, I rise to ask the noble Viscount the Secretary of State for India a Question of which I have given him private notice. I noticed a few days ago a statement, apparently on authority, that it was proposed to abolish the Military Supply Member of the Viceroy's Council and the Department over which he presides. I wish to ask the noble Viscount whether the statement is correct, and whether he will give your Lordships the advantage of seeing any Papers on the subject.

THE SECRETARY OF STATE FOR INDIA (VISCOUNT MORLEY OF BLACKBURN):

The statement is perfectly correct, and I shall be very happy within a few days to lay Papers before Parliament.
