The LORD CHANCELLOR

acquainted the House that he had received the following letter from the Envoy Extraordinary and Minister Plenipotentiary to His Majesty the King of Portugal—

Portuguese Legation,

MY LORD, 26th February, 1908.

I have the honour to inform your Lordship that I am instructed by His Faithful Majesty's Government to convey to the House of Lords the sincere thanks and appreciation of my Government for the kind and condoling expressions passed by their Lordships on the occasion of the lamentable death of my August Sovereign, His late Majesty the King of Portugal and the Algarves, K.G., and His Royal Highness the late Crown Prince of Portugal, K.G. I have the honour to request that you will be so good as to bring these expressions of sincere appreciation of my Government before the House of Lords.
