HL Deb 21 February 1907 vol 169 cc999-1000
THE LORD PRIVY SEAL (The Marquess of Ripon)

My noble friend Lord Stanmore has been obliged to leave the House, and on his behalf I beg to move, with one alteration, the Motion which stands in his name. I am grieved to say that it is necessary to delete the name of my noble friend the Lord Steward (the Earl of Liverpool), whose state of health makes it impossible for him to attend the meetings of the Committee.

Moved, "That a Select Committee be appointed to continue the inquiry with respect to the unfinished condition of the rooms in the Palace of Westminster appropriated to the service of this House and their approaches, and that the Lords following be named of the Committee:—M. Cholmondeley, E. Carlisle, E. Brownlow, E. Lytton, E. Plymouth, L. Denman, L. Stanmore."—(The Marquess of Ripon.)

On Question, Motion agreed to

The Committee to meet on Wednesday next at Eleven o'clock, and to appoint their own Chairman.

House adjourned at ten minutes past Six o'clock, to Monday next, a quarter before Eleven o'clock.
