HL Deb 20 August 1907 vol 181 c348

My Lords, as I think, and hope, we are now in sight of the termination of the session, I venture to ask your Lordships to allow me to move the Resolution which I have placed on the Paper, similar to the one that I moved last year, for the purpose of expediting business. I can assure your Lordships that I will not in any way make use of the power which this would give of passing Bills rapidly through the House, except in cases where that course is perfectly agreeable to your Lordships on both sides.

Moved, "That Standing Order No. XXXIX. be considered in order to its being suspended for the remainder of the session."—(The Marquess of Ripon.)

On Question, Motion agreed to, and Standing Order suspended for the remainder of the session accordingly.
