HL Deb 09 August 1904 vol 139 c1495

Moved, That the order made on the 16th day of March last, "That no Provisional Order Confirmation Bill brought from the House of Commons shall be read a second time after the 18th day of June next," be dispensed with, and that the Bill be now read 2a.—(The Earl of Denbigh.)

LORD BALFOUR OF BURLEIGH

I made it a condition of agreeing to the suspension of the Standing Order in this case that there should be no opposition to the Provisional Order. I have had communications both from the Chief Secretary and the Attorney-General for Ireland that that is so, and I am satisfied that the request for the suspension of the Standing Order is a reasonable one in all the circumstances.

On Question, Motion agreed to. Bill read 2a accordingly and committed to a Committee of the Whole House on Thursday next.
