HL Deb 03 July 1903 vol 124 c1248

[SECOND READING.]

LORD BALFOUR OF BURLEIGH

This is a comparatively small Bill. It was introduced into the other House early in May, and if it had not been for the intervention of the Whitsun holidays it would have been up in plenty of time. It only concerns an additional borrowing power of £20,000, and there is absolutely no opposition to it.

Moved, that the Order made on the 16th March last, "That no Bill brought from the House of Commons confirming any Provisional Order or Provisional Certificate shall be read a second time after the 18th of June next," be dispensed with.—(Lord Balfour of Burleigh.)

On Question, Motion agreed to; and Bill read 2a (according to order), and committed to a Committee of the Whole House on Monday next.
