Moved that a Select Committee be appointed to inquire and report whether, and if so to what extent, British ships are sent to sea in an unseaworthy condition by reason of their being insufficiently or improperly ballasted, whether any amendment or amplification of the present law is desirable in connection therewith; if so, to what extent any such alteration of the law could be made equally applicable to foreign vessels—(The Lord Wolverton)—agreed to; and ordered accordingly.

The Committee to meet on Thursday next at Twelve o'clock and to appoint their own Chairman.
