HL Deb 18 March 1901 vol 91 c201
THE LORD BISHOP OF WINCHESTER

My Lords, may I trespass on the indulgence of the House to make a statement as to what we propose to do in regard to these two Bills, which passed a Second Heading the other night? Both Bills are down for Committee stage on Thursday next, but after consulting with those who are interested in the matter, and hearing in mind the strong and hopeful words which were used by the representative of His Majesty's Government, we propose not to take the Committee stage till after Easter.
