HL Deb 25 May 1900 vol 83 c1229
THE EARL OF DARTMOUTH

My Lords, I beg to ask the Secretary of State for War if he can now make a statement as to the manner in which the £40,000 voted last year for Volunteer ranges has been allocated.

THE SECRETARY OF STATE FOR WAR (The Marquess of LANSDOWNE)

The Report of the Rifle Ranges Committee, to whom this question was referred, reached me this week. The Committee have recommended the allocation of almost the whole of the £40,000. We shall want a few days in which to consider their recommendations, but I hope to be able very shortly to supply to my noble friend, or, if he likes, to lay upon the Table of the House, a full statement of the manner in which the money will be distributed.
