HL Deb 03 August 1900 vol 87 cc582-3

[SECOND READING.].

Order of the Day for the Second Reading read.

The LORD CHANCELLOR OF IRELAND (Lord ABHOURNE)

My Lords, this is a Bill to amend certain clauses of the Local Government (Ireland) Act, 1898, and it is essentially a Bill of details. It has been found necessary to make certain Amendments in the Act to which I have referred with a view to facilitating its working. I am told that a noble Lord desires to move some Amendments on the Committee stage, which I had proposed to take to-night, but, under the circumstances, I will put the Committee stage down for Monday, when I hope it will he convenient to your Lordships to take the remaining stages.

Bill read 2a (according to Order), and committed to a Committee of the Whole House on Monday next.
