LORD PLAYFAIR

, in moving the Second Reading of this Bill, explained that it had come up from the other House, where it had been unopposed. It was a Bill to amend the Friendly Societies Act, and had been prepared by the Friendly Societies in conjunction with the Treasury. It incorporated two or three of the recommendations made in the Report of the Aged Poor Commission.

said, that it had been printed, but by some accident not circulated. Copies would now be delivered without delay.
