said, a return had been laid upon the Table of the amount of country bank-notes stamped in the last three years, and of the unstamped notes allowed for at the Stamp Office. There appeared to be a progressive increase in both respects. He wished to know whether this account included Scotland; and if it did not, whether there would be any objection to furnish a return, distinguishing the amount of notes in the two countries.

said, the account did include Scotland, but it might be difficult to distinguish between those parts of it which related to the two coun- tries. However, he would inquire into the subject.
