Major BIRCHALLasked the Financial Secretary to the Treasury whether he will give to the House a comparative statement showing the relative position in 1914 and 1922, as regards length of training, emoluments, and pension, of a certificated teacher and of an official of similar qualifications and age in the Civil Service?
Mr. YOUNGI find it difficult to supply the comparison required by the hon. and gallant Member without a clearer understanding of his intention. If he will be so good as to let me know what he would consider to be an official of similar qualifications for the purpose of the comparison, I will do my best to furnish him with the information he desires.
