HC Deb 08 May 1922 vol 153 cc1798-9
74. Sir C. YATE

asked the Under-Secretary of State for India whether his attention has been called to the statement that the Gandhi revolutionary flag was flown over the Industrial Exhibition at Bhagalpur with the permission of Mr. Sen, the commissioner of the division, who was also the president of the committee managing the exhibition; whether any other Government officials connived at the flying of this flag; if so, who were they; and what steps have been taken by the Government of India in the matter?

Earl WINTERTON

I would refer my hon. Friend to the full reply given to the hon. and gallant Member for South Battersea (Viscount Curzon) on the 28th March.

Sir C. YATE

Can the Noble Lord state, in reply to the last part of the question, what steps have been taken by the Government of India in the matter?

Earl WINTERTON

I can assure my hon. and gallant Friend that was exactly the question asked by the Noble Lord on the date in question.
