§ 68. Mr. WISEasked the President of the Board of Trade whether the Public Trustee holds any Turkish property requisitioned in Egypt and elsewhere?
§ Mr. BALDWINThe Custodian has no information as to any property in Egypt belonging to Turks; I would suggest to my hon. Friend that he should address to the Foreign Office any questions regarding such property.
As far as property elsewhere is concerned, the Custodian has vested in him under orders of the High Court and Board of Trade a certain amount of property belonging to Turkish nationals, and there is also recorded with him the property of Turkish nationals which was so recorded under the provisions of the Trading with the Enemy Amendment Act, 1914.
