§ 68. Sir W. de FRECEasked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Transport whether it is his policy in the case of new railway Bills coming before the House with a request for further privileges to ascertain before these are granted whether the fair claims of the public for considerate treatment under the powers now possessed are adequately recognised; and, if so, whether he has adopted this policy in respect of the private Bills now being promoted?
§ Mr. NEALI am always willing to consider any complaint of the nature mentioned which is brought to my notice, and, if as a result of such consideration it appears desirable, to communicate with the company concerned. I do not, however, think it my duty no conduct an investigation of the nature suggested whenever a railway company seeks additional powers from Parliament.
