HC Deb 01 March 1922 vol 151 c347
6. Sir T. BRAMSDON

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Admiralty whether, in view of the fact that service at Rosyth is classified as home service, steps will be taken to limit the period of service at that base to one year, except in the case of volunteers?

The PARLIAMENTARY SECRETARY to the ADMIRALTY (Mr. Amery)

In view of the large reductions contemplated at Rosyth it is probable that volunteers will be sufficient to meet all requirements. Should this prove not to be the case, the matter will be considered.

Sir T. BRAMSDON

Is it a fact that men who return from sea service are being sent to Rosyth, and is that not a hardship on them?
