HC Deb 14 February 1922 vol 150 c799
25. Colonel WEDGWOOD

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether, in view of the risks of the spread of non-co-operation to Ceylon, he will lay Papers showing the correspondence, resolutions, and debates in the Ceylon Parliament concerning the constitutional question in that Colony?

Mr. CHURCHILL

Up to the present I have only received Press reports on the constitutional debates in the Ceylon Legislative Council, and pending receipt of the Governor's official report and considered views, I am not in a position to lay any Papers before the House. I have seen no indication that, there is any risk of the spread of non-co-operation to Ceylon.

Colonel WEDGWOOD

Can we have a pledge that the official debates will be laid as Papers before this House before any action is taken which might lead to non-co-operation?

Mr. CHURCHILL

No, Sir. I must consider that.
