HC Deb 13 February 1922 vol 150 c604
56. Mr. LUNN

asked the Prime Minister whether the Government intend to introduce a Bill during this Session of Parliament giving the vote to women on the same terms as it is now, or may be, granted to men?

57. Sir H. BRITTAIN

asked the Prime Minister whether the Government intend to introduce legislation this Session for the purpose of giving the vote to women on the same terms as to men?

68. Mr. A. WILLIAMS

asked the Lord Privy Seal whether His Majesty's Government intend to introduce legislation this Session giving the vote to women on the same terms as to men?

The PRIME MINISTER

No, Sir. I do not think that it would be wise to reopen again, after so short an interval, franchise questions which were settled by general agreement in the last Parliament.

Mr. WILLIAMS

Will the right hon. Gentleman say how he reconciles that with his previous declaration of equal rights for men and women?
