HC Deb 10 November 1921 vol 148 cc611-2
Sir MARTIN CONWAY (by Private Notice)

asked the Under-Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether His Majesty's Government have any information respecting the presence of an Italian representative, named Tuozzi, at Angora, and whether there is reason to suppose that the Italian Government have any intention of following a recent example in concluding a separate agreement with the Angora Government?

Mr. HARMSWORTH

The answer to the first part of the question is in the affirmative. As regards the second, the Italian Minister for Foreign Affairs has categorically denied that there is any truth in this suggestion, and has assured His Majesty's Ambassador at Rome that His Majesty's Government will be kept informed of everything that passes at Angora.
