Colonel NEWMANasked the President of the Board of Education whether the London County Council has decided for the present to modify the scheme it was about to put into operation under the Education Act, 1918; if so, can he say which are the modifications decided on; and what is expected to be the saving to the ratepayers and taxpayers in the county of London?
Mr. LEWISMy right hon. Friend presumes that the hon. and gallant Member refers to the scheme of continuation schools which is now in operation. He has received no official intimation from the Council that they desire to modify the scheme, but understands that the question of its modification is under their consideration.
