HC Deb 20 June 1921 vol 143 cc877-8
24. Sir HARRY BRITTAIN

asked the Secretary for Mines whether his attention has been directed to the fact of the purity of the atmosphere in London during the coal stoppage; and whether, when normal mining conditions again prevail, all possible steps will be taken in the interests of coal conservation, as well as public health, to limit and eventually forbid the wasteful burning of raw coal in this and other great cities?

The MINISTER of HEALTH (Sir Alfred Mond)

I have been asked to reply to this question. I would refer my hon. Friend to the reply I gave to the hon. Member for Middlesbrough West on the 1st instant, of which I will send him a copy.
