§ Sir P. LLOYD-GREAMEThe cost of the staff of the Export Credits Department from the beginning of its operations in 1919 up to date is £7,871. This cost is covered by commissions paid on the transactions entered into, and does not form a charge on public funds. The amount of advances sanctioned up to date is £2,455,263. Of this amount, £880,670 has actually been advanced. The remainder will be advanced as the relevant transactions are completed. Advances amounting to £20,000 have been repaid.
