HC Deb 15 December 1921 vol 149 c129
Mr. ESMOND HARMSWORTH

(by Private Notice)asked the Prime Minister if there was an undertaking given at the recent Conference that the flag of the Irish Free State will not be the present Sinn Fein flag, but the Union Jack with such minor alterations as local patriotism requires, as in the case of all the other self-governing Dominions within the British Empire?

The PRIME MINISTER

The question was not raised at the Conference.

Mr. HARMSWORTH

Are we to understand that the Union Jack, as our national flag, was not considered important enough for discussion?
