§ The SECRETARY of STATE for WAR (Sir Laming Worthington-Evans)There are still one or two points to be settled, but it is hoped to issue instructions on the matter in the near future. I would remind my hon. and gallant Friend that the question of promotion also affects retirement and retired pay, and the financial effect requires to be carefully considered before a decision can be reached.
