HC Deb 26 October 1920 vol 133 cc1530-1
25. Major Sir BERTRAM FALLE

asked the Secretary of State for War whether he is aware that men serving in Ireland are obliged to pay full fare, if called to this country by illness or death of wife or child; whether he is aware that the same rule obtains for men who are given regular leave to this country; and whether he can modify this rule and allow a free pass to such men?

Sir A. WILLIAMSON

If the furlough is for a period of more than six days, only half the full fare is charged, the State paying the difference. The question as to whether any further concessions should be made is now under consideration.
