HC Deb 26 October 1920 vol 133 c1554
62. Captain TUDOR-REES

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether, in view of the fact that recent adjustments of railway and tramway fares involve the use of an increased number of halfpennies, and with a view to the conservation of copper, he will consider the desirability of minting a nickel three-halfpenny coin?

Mr. CHAMBERLAIN

I think that the objections to minting any three-halfpenny coin outweigh any possible convenience to be derived from it.
