HC Deb 26 October 1920 vol 133 cc1554-5
63. Captain TUDOR-REES

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether the Economy Committees appointed by him with a view to the reduction of public expenditure have yet presented their Reports; and, if so, whether he will circulate such Reports?

Mr. CHAMBERLAIN

Reports have been received on the organisation and staff of three of the selected Departments, namely, Ministries of Labour, Agriculture and Fisheries, and the Sugar Commission. The investigations into the four remaining Departments are not yet completed. As I stated in reply to my hon. and gallant Friend on the 13th July. I propose to consider the question of publishing the Reports when they have all been received and I have had an opportunity, if necessary, of consulting the Chairmen.
