HC Deb 26 October 1920 vol 133 c1552
51. Sir W. JOYNSON-HICKS

asked the Prime Minister whether he is aware of the considerable rise in rates and the alarm at the further rise foreshadowed if the Education and other Acts recently passed are put into operation; and whether he will consider the passing of another Act to suspend municipal extravagance until such time as the finances of the country are straightened out?

Mr. BONAR LAW

As I have already said in answer to previous questions, the Government are not prepared to adopt my hon. Friend's suggestion.
