HC Deb 26 October 1920 vol 133 cc1552-3
55. Mr. RAPER

asked the Prime Minister if he will state why, in view of the fact that King Hussein has appointed the Emir Feisal head of the deputation to thank His Majesty for his presents, His Majesty's Government have refused the Emir's request to be allowed to come to England?

Mr. BONAR LAW

Some doubt exists as to the composition of King Hussein s delegation. Contradictory telegrams have been received, naming more than one person as head of the Mission. The King of the Hedjas, however, has been asked by telegram to clear up this question.

Mr. RAPER

Are we to understand that if King Hussein desires to send the Emir Feisal to this country and the Emir Feisal desires to come that no difficulty will be put in his way?

Mr. BONAR LAW

I think not, Sir.
