§ Mr. SHORTTThe number of men who were retained in the Metropolitan Police under the provisions of the Police (Emergency Provisions) Act, 1915, was 1,983. Of this number 253 retired on medical certificate between the date of the passing of the Act and the Armistice.
§ 22. Sir J. REMNANTasked the Home Secretary how many pensioners from the Metropolitan Police are employed to clean police stations; how many are employed in museums and other public buildings; and, of this number, how many are in receipt of pre-War and post-War pensions, respectively?
