HC Deb 19 October 1920 vol 133 cc771-2
34. Mr. G. THORNE

asked the Prime Minister when the Bill dealing with dumping will be introduced?

54. Mr. BOTTOMLEY (for Mr. C. Palmer)

asked the Prime Minister whether a date has now been fixed for the introduction of the promised Anti Dumping Bill?

Mr. BONAR LAW

A Bill dealing with this matter is in course of preparation and will be introduced as soon as possible, but I cannot yet fix a definite date.

Lieut.-Commander KENWORTHY

Is there not enough restriction on British trade without introducing any fresh legislation?

Mr. BONAR LAW

We should not regard our Bill as a restriction on British trade.

Mr. HOGGE

Does the right hon. Gentleman's answer mean that the Bill will be introduced before the Session closes, or will it be held over till next year?

Mr. BONAR LAW

It is possible—and, indeed, I hope it will happen—that we shall introduce it during the present Session.
