HC Deb 24 November 1920 vol 135 cc425-6
65. Captain LOSEBY

asked the Minister of Health if he will state what steps, if any, does he intend taking with regard to the recent appointment of a non-ex-service man as clerk to the Tisbury Board of Guardians, the Tisbury Board of Guardians having given the appointment to a man who already holds several public appointments, notwithstanding the strong representations made by a large majority of the local public, including practically all the ex-service men in the locality, who wished that the appointment in question should be given to a properly qualified ex-service man?

Dr. ADDISON

I have again urged upon the Guardians the claims of ex-service men in connection with the vacant appointment, and I will send my hon. and gallant Friend a copy of the letter which I addressed to the Guardians on the subject.
