§ 38. Mr. GILBERTasked the Minister of Labour whether he will give the number of unemployed men and women now registered in the borough of Southwark; can he state how many of the men are ex-service men; and whether his Department has any record of unemployed registered at the local town halls?
§ Dr. MACNAMARAThere were on 16th November about 4,950 men and 2,000 women registered at the Employment Exchange as unemployed in the borough of Southwark. Of the men, about 4,000 were ex-service men. As regards the last part of the question, I have no copy of the local town hall lists.
