Mr. CHARLES DUNCANasked whether the Commissioner of Police for the Metropolis of London has issued an Order to the effect that palmists and other practitioners of psychic arts within the area of his jurisdiction must remove all words such as palmist, clairvoyant, or astrologer from their door-plates, window-signs, and other public advertisements; and whether he will state under what Act such action has been taken?
§ Mr. McKENNAThe police notified to palmists, clairvoyants, astrologers, and similar persons that any advertisement by them that they were carrying on their calling would be held to bring them within the purview of Section 4 of the Vagrancy Act, 1824, for the purpose of proceedings.
