HL Deb 07 February 1980 vol 404 cc1589-90WA
Baroness MACLEOD of BORVE

asked Her Majesty's Government:

What plans they have for cleaning the outside of Middlesex Guildhall, Parliament Square, and when they intend to carry out repairs to the interior.

Lord MOWBRAY and STOURTON

My right honourable friend the Secretary of State for the Environment has arranged for the cleaning and restoration of the exterior of the Middlesex Guildhall. Work commenced on 4th February and is expected to take about six months. Plans for remodelling the interior are under consideration with my noble and learned friend the Lord Chancellor. If these are acceptable, the first phase of the work could start in mid-1981.

House adjourned at twenty-four minutes before eight o'clock.
