HC Deb 04 April 1979 vol 965 c776W
Mr. Wm. Ross

asked the Secretary of State for Defence how many members of the Ulster Defence Regiment have been brought before the courts in Northern Ireland during the last three years; and how many members of the regiment have been subsequently dismissed as a result of convictions in those years.

Mr. Robert C. Brown

Available records show that 275 members of the Ulster Defence Regiment were convicted of civil crimes, including motoring and minor offences, in the period 1 January 1976 to 31 March 1979; 75 members of the regiment were discharged following civil convictions.
